dustyThanks, B. I will pass this on. One of our volunteer's father died just last night, so we can all use a little pick-me-up like your message. - Dusty www.hkrause.com/bike
RetroA special thanks to Dusty and all those who volunteered for the March of Dimes Biker for Babies run. They did a great job hosting an event that attracted more than 3,000 bikers. GREAT JOB!! Ride safe! Retro

KCLuThey laid out a great ride, really enjoyed the route. I can't wait to see all the pictures... Dusty caught the UB crew live at a pitt stop. Retro, do you think there are still people standing there in line with empty plastic plates? Good grub though! I think I particularly enjoyed the pancake Olympics, LOL! Ride safe & Sparkly! Lu
Sgt.BThat was a great ride those guys laid out! I really liked the way there were so many of the people who lived along ther who came out to wave at the bikes. Quite a few of the towns actually closed off intersections to allow for easy passage. Whoever organized this event did a great job with the ride planning and organization. Dusty if you could pass the point of contact along to me I would really be interested in helping with the event next summer. Retro and I rode almost that same route last weakend when we were out and about. There are some really good riding roads in Kansas!!!
dustySure, B... The Bikers for Babies coordinator is Marca Robinson. Her email is marobinson@modimes.org or you can call her at 816-561-0175. The guy who plans the route each year (and deserves a round of applause!) is Steve Yates, who is a volunteer with the B4B committee. What an AWESOME day! I couldn't have found a better ride to cut my teeth on (never having gone on an organized ride before). I had a blast and got lots of photos. Will be editing and adding them to the website ASAP. Several other March of Dimes folks got pics also and will be contributing theirs from around the Speedway (while I was taking shots along the route). In case you didn't stay late enough for the awards and numbers... preliminary estimates are around 5,000 bikers and $300,000 !!! The national March of Dimes officials were there yesterday to find out what we're doing right. With the results we had, we are now officially the #1 Ride event in the country! Thanks everybody, from all the March of Dimes organizers and volunteers, and most of all from the tiny babies you've helped to save! By the way, Outback Steakhouse provided all that food free of charge to March of Dimes. The lines were long, but they fed every single one of those folks! What an incredible effort on their part. They want to do it again next year, and they're having a follow-up "Thank You" event with some free food samples next Monday (9/23) at their Johnson Drive location. March of Dimes will be there also to accept additional donations from anyone who couldn't make it to the ride on Sunday. Cheers! - Dusty www.hkrause.com/bike
KCLuDusty, the food was fantastic, and I have to tell you, I never would have guessed you for a drinker much less doing "shots along the route". And you're right, that was a wonderful route for "cutting your teeth on"... that was my first organized ride, and it was wonderful! As I rode along I occasionally lost sight of the bikes ahead, and then there'd be one of the March of Dimes volunteers pointing the way at the next turn, that was great... especially since the one thing I'm best at is getting lost. Maybe that's why B man is always saying, "get lost Lu". Ride safe & Sparkly! Lu
dustyBikers for Babies photos are online now. You can find the photo album index at: http://www.marchofdimeskc.org/biker/photos.htm Check the Winchester, KS section for a shot of the UnitedBikers crew. - Dusty www.hkrause.com/bike
KCLuDayam! We're a good looking crew!! Ya know, Dusty, ordinarily when the four of us get together for a photo-op, we generally charge the big bux, but we were happy to do it for the March of Dimes. (King made me say that. ) Ride safe & Sparkly! Lu
dustyHey, yer too kind to me!! Good thing, though... I think I only had about 85 cents on me that day, which wouldn't go far split 4 ways! - Dusty www.hkrause.com/bike
RetroGreat pics, Dusty...Thanks for posting em up! Ride safe! Retro

Sgt.BHey I just read this strand. See what happens if you get busy and can keep an eye on the children. But in response: No I havent put on any weight, No Im not pregnant, and no the camera is probably working ok. I had to watch my weight for ten years, now I dont. Im guessing that my weight is not going to go down anytime soon so you better get used to it.
