Manly Horn
TheKingOk, so having that little "Beep Beep" roadrunner horn was threatening my manhood...and Lord knows with all the blood pressure medicine I take, I don't anything else threatening my manhood!...so I found a cheap fix! I wish i could take the credit, but actually I saw the info on another site. Here is the $10 secret...FIAMM Freeway Blaster from Harbor Frieght Tools. I found it right there on the shelf. $9.95...about 15 minutes to switch out (Not counting adding a little black paint to it's backside) and I feel like a man again! Watch out, there's no tellin' what could happen now! BEEP BEEP YER ASS! Edited by - TheKing on 09/14/2002 11:50:37

KCLuI checked their web site, which one did you get, the high or low frequency one? btw, I've always thought a "manly horn" was important. (snicker snicker) Ride safe & Sparkly! Lu
TheKingI got the low note...132dbs. I used the same mounting bracket, but reversed it. The hole on the new bracket was not the same as on the bike. The horn comes out a little farther than the original, because it is bigger....but I think it's one of things that only you will notice. I believe the stock horn on the Star is db, so this is a big difference. ME SO HORNY! You might be better off trying to find it at the local parts store. Harbor Frieght is cheaper, but I understand that the shipping doubled the price. Some people found it local for about $15. Edited by - TheKing on 09/15/2002 06:51:54
RetroYup. Several Shadow riders have made this mod using the Fiamm from AutoZone. Prolly the same model. Ride safe! Retro

KCLuI think I'm going to have to look into that... beep beep doesn't always get heard in traffic. A fog horn would be kind of nice. Ride safe & Sparkly! Lu
TheKingWARNING! WARNING! Now I'm not feeling so manly. I like the new horn, but it doesn't like me. Remember I said it sticks out a little bit? Well, today I hit a bump..and it stuck out right into the back of the front fender...nice little gouge..OUCH! I'm going to try to dremel the flare down, but not sure what I'm going to do about the fender. It's two-tone and the damaged part actually is an overlay I think. Oh well, something to work on this winter. Edited by - TheKing on 09/29/2002 20:01:10
RetroOuch! I'm going to buy a Harley horn cover and relocate mine to the V in the left side of my cylinders. Another winter project! Ride safe! Retro
