| Forum Errors in the Related To Motorcycles Section | |
| Retro | As many of you know, I have been tracking down that crazy error that pertains only to the Related To Motorcycles section. Some users have never seen it, while others seem to get it more often. I need a little help in tracking this thing down.
For those of you who have ever seen this error can you give me a couple of pieces of information:
1) What browser (IE or Netscape) are you using when you are getting the error?
2) Does the error go away if you refresh the page?
3) There is a drop-down in the upper-right corner that shows "Show Topics For the Last xxx days". Does this error go away when you switch that to 60 days or below?
I think I have tracked it to that drop down box. If you want to test for #3, go into any section other than the Related To Motorcycles one and switch that to 30 days. Now try going into the Related To Motorcycles section. Does it work? If it does, try going back into any other forum and switch it to 120 days. When you go back into Related To motorcycles, does the error come back?
Please give me a hand with this. I'd like to get rid of this little bugger before I move on to some bigger mods.

I am running Netscape 7

I was originally set to display all messages. At your instruction, I went to a different forum, selected "30 days" and then went to "Related..." with no problem. I exited, went to a different forum and changed the drop-down to 120 days. When I went back to "Related..." it displays the following error:

I tried a refresh on the page and the error remained. Went into a different forum, switched back to display all messages and returned to "Related..." and the error was still there. Tried once more going into a different forum and switched to 30-days, then back to "Related..." and the messages appeared. With the "Related..." message list showing normally, I switched to "Show all" and got the error (including refresh). Used the Back button, however, and the message list reappeared, even with "Show all" selected. I then tried switching to 120-day and received the error again.
Let me know if I can do any more testing for ya!

| Retro | Yup....that's the result I expected...I'm going to see about applying SQL Server SP2 and see if that fixes the problem. Supposedly it should.

Ok, here's what I did:
Went to a topic and asked for posts for last 30 days
Went to Related to Motorcycles
Everything fine
Went to a topic and asked for posts for last 120 days
This is what I got:

Went back to previous topic and changed back to last 30 days
Everything was fine again.

| Retro | Well, we upgraded the server to service pack 2 today and it seems to have resolved this problem. Just go into the Related to Motorcycles section and you can now select 120 days or Last Year with no probs.
