MidniteRoadyGreat..... I've got rooms reserved down there for next spring....that would be my luck that they change it and I'm there the wrong days!!! Keep us posted on what goes on down there. Farmer Mike 01 MidnightStar "I don't wanna pickle, just wanna ride my motorcickle"
bjojrYa know I'm not much for "big gatherings" but I do wish the bozo's in city/state government would just leave things be for those of you who like that kinda thing! Just seems if they'd all quit thinking this was 1960 and let you all ride in, party a little and ride out things would be just fine, JMHO.! As the Eagle's song says, they need to "Get Over It". RetroMike, From an insider's point of view, has it really gotten that bad at Laconia or is this just a bunch of pissed of councilmen trying to exert their control over those dayam bikers?? Last time I was at Bike Week in '97, there didn't seem to really be any big probs. Sure...a few drunks stumbling out of the bars, heard about a few "altercations", but really everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, checking out the bikes, and basically having a good time. In fact, what annoyed me the most wasn't the bikers, but the idiot teenagers who camped out on the side of the road with their "Show Us Your Tits" signs harassing the women. Now I have nothing against a little public display of nudity (as many of you know ), but these idiots were yelling at the women who chose not to show and trying to get a little touchy-feely with those who did. Maybe the city council would be better off focusing their attention at keeping stupid teenagers away from the rally. Think about it....bikers don't like to be annoyed and when they do, it's like poking a bear with a stick....chit happens.... Anyway...is it really as bad as they're making it out to be? Ride safe! Nite_RyderActually it no real proplem the way i see it. theres no big traffic jams untill the last weekend and then they close the weirs bridge off to cars on thursday i think it is. of course there always some trouble ant accidents/ deaths but its mostly just the local residents who do all the camplaining about it. i can see there frustration trying to get in and out but hey thats only a real problem for them for a few days not the whole week!. and bike weekend as it started has been going now for longer then they lived there so they knew what was what when they bought there! After bike week then they all start complaining about how there too many boats on the lake, too many big boats too fast of boats the jets skis, then the snowmobiles on the lake making noise..............

RetroI thought the closing of the bridge was one of the best things they could ever do. Made it real nice to be able to ride the loop and not ever have to contend with a cage. I guess no matter how good an event is, there will always be someone to complain. Hopefully, the complainers aren't on the city council ! Ride safe! Retro

John Bennett In my opinion, bike rallies are supposed to be a little bit dangerous. You know, burn-outs, a few drunken brawls, people doing wheelies on Road Kings, that kind of thing. The last outdoor rock concert I went to was like going to lunch in the school cafeteria ... no booze, no sharp objects, no clothes with chains, no glass, no ice chests, no lawn chairs, anybody lighting up a joint got pounced on by the cops. It's probably even worse now what with the "war on terrorism". I'm offended by the idea that teenagers could openly insult biker chicks. Why weren't the biker dudes pulling over to administer them a judicious azz-whipping? I would never have dreamed of doing such a thing when I was a teenager (cuz I didn't want an azz-whipping). I'm unfamiliar with Laconia. If it's an urban area, I guess they have the right to enforce as they please. If so, the bikers should party out in the country where they don't bother the tax-payers. ==========================================

KCLuI know what you mean John, the last concert we went to they took away my leash, they took away my whip, and I nearly had to leave all my clothes at the front gate... picky picky picky! Ride safe & Sparkly! Lu
