You folks are being awfully quiet...
KCLuI'll assume that everyone's trying to get in as many miles as they can before the weather turns to chit. We took a break this afternoon and did the urban tour here in KC, there were lots of scooters out. We rode up Blue Ridge to Blue River Road and up 87th and took the back streets into the Plaza & Westport area. Not a real exciting ride, but it was a ride and we sure enjoyed it. Where'd everyone else ride to today? 'Cause I know you had to be riding if you weren't posting. Special note to all the "guests" I see reading the forums recently... register and post! We'd love to hear about your bike, and if you don't have a bike, we'd love to hear about the highways & by-ways in your area that we haven't yet ridden. Come on, talk to us, you know you want to! Ride safe & Sparkly! Lu

MidniteRoadyI was out the drive at 6 this morning, arrived Topeka at 9. Went with my cousin to the Bush race, back on the bike just before 6pm, and got home shortly before 9pm. Rode the bike 340 miles and watched a 300 mile race. I think I'm tired..... Farmer Mike 01 MidnightStar "I don't wanna pickle, just wanna ride my motorcickle"
FXSBWe had cold and rain all day around here, still managed about 50 miles around town and between the rain. Sunny and 70's tomorrow, gotta get out, need about 300 miles to finish the break in and see what she will do. "Gray-hair bikers don't get that way by accident"

JAMESPETTYAbout 10 of us road down to Cabela's today and then we went to a bar and had lunch and then back up to Hell, Mi.and then back home. It was raining when I left the house this morning but it cleared up around 10:30 and was nice the rest of the day. Round trip was about 160 miles. Had alot of fun and a few beers. What more could you ask for? I just got the bike cleaned up from the rain so I'm ready to go again !! When is the mileage contest over ? I think I have somewhere between 8 & 9 thousand so far this summer. I know thats not the winner but I still had fun putting them on. James Petty Star-Vet ISRA

dustyBeen quiet because we flew to Vegas for a few days of R&R. Back now, checking email and the 'net to find out what's been happening in the "real" world. - Dusty I always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been more specific!

dustyYeah, that's what I said as I kept pounding on those silly machines with all the blinking lights and noises. I was reduced to a whimpering mass on the casino floor! - Dusty I always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been more specific!
KCLuRetro, hunny, I think we've discussed this before... and I told you... life is not fair, get over it! Go ride a few miles, it'll be better. Ride safe & Sparkly! Lu

Ya that's were we've been, trying to get in our last serious "mountain rides"!! We had SNOW over 8,000ft. last weekend and the Mrs. and I were chased out of the mountains last Sunday by a "ice storm"! Winter is comin, RATS!!! The only good thing about living in Colorado Springs is that were actually on the "plains" of Colorado so we can usually ride some days even during the winter months!! I'ts low 40's here today and there talkin we might get a "dusting" of snow on Thursday here in the Springs, BUMMER. Ride Often, Enjoy Life More! Ride Often & Enjoy Life More! dustyBJ, we used to live in Longmont...just a little ways north of Denver. Biggest snow we ever had was on May 6th - 16". Could barely WALK out of the driveway, let alone ride. Within 2 days it was all gone, sun was out and people walking around in short sleeves. - Dusty I always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been more specific!

Howdy Dusty, ya that's what saves us on the "Front Range" of Colorado is that were a tad lower in elevation so the sun get's hot enough to melt off the snow quickly! LOL, we still remember our Ride out to Moab UT. and back thru the 4 Corners area in 1996. Coming over Red Mountain Pass on US550 we got hit by a COLD rain storm all the way back to US50E. As we headed toward Gunnison, CO. it turned into a "ice/sleet" storm with 70 mph. winds by time we reached Gunnison, we were covered in ICE from head to toe. The Mrs. had to let her bike "die" as her gloves were "frozen" to the levers!!! We stopped to chip off ice and get some hot coco before going over Monarch Pass and heading home. A CO. State Trooper pulled in and ask us where were headed. I said Colorado Springs and Home. He stated: Not tonight folks, there's 7" inches of fresh snow on top of Monarch Pass, find a motel for the night. We did, the thing that's really crazy about this ride, it was "JULY 3rd."!!
