I can't afford a Harley!!!!!
klifDammit. I was working last night and my friend rode up to me on his new 2003 Ultra Classic. (black with the silver stripe) The only option he had was the laced wheels instead of the mags. He drove out from the stealer (uhm I mean dealer) for $27K!!!!!! I really loved that bike but damn $27K??? I looked at the HD website and figured tt&l and he paid a $5K dealer mark-up.

kc_harleyyea, had to drive to Mason City, Iowa for mine!! Bot at MSRP!! 350 miles!!
KCLuWe have one harley at our house, and that's the very reason we don't have two... and we won't ever have two. And that's all I have to say about that. Ride safe & Sparkly! Lu
bearSo who says ya got to own a Harley, I sure don't I don't care what you ride, just that you do ride, I personally don't like some of the Dorks that ride Harleys, but then ya got to know me to understand where I'm coming from with that, and most Dorks know I think that about them...its not the bike, its their attuide towards other people and what they ride that I find offenceive is all.. I have more friends that ride Metric then ride Harleys, so there, and I know about affording one, I had to leave my home town to go find one for MSRP, and to tell the truth I'm not sure I would do it again.. not when there are so many fine bikes out there that are cheaper...Just my thought on the matter, In fact I kind of envy some of the guys that ride the older stufff and are just having fun, and aren't trying to impress anybody...as far as I'm concerend, I would rather have a good friend riding a 1988 Honda that is truly a nice guy then a dip-Chit that just spent $25,000 on the latest Harley and has no idea how to be a nice guy....just thinks he is a god just because he rides a Harley.....just my thoughts on this Joe [the bear] noli illegitimi carborundum
RetroAmen, Bear... Ride safe! Retro

bikeralanIt seems the rubs and posers are becoming more prevalent too, they run in the goldwing circles too. "see my new 1800 that I had the dealer hang all the chrome on" I avoid this type like the plague, watch these fools try to ride anywhere but the highway and it is scary, they can't handle their big new barges under 30 mph. To me half the fun is fixing your ride the way you want it, and doing it yourself. The memories I have of my six year old daughter "helping" me redo "our" bike are second to none, it has upwards of 69,000 mi and I would take it anywhere. That is what makes this group what it is,no bashing or ego trips, I would be proud to ride with any of ya. Alan
