| MotherTested | I once thought of producing these... http://bellsouthpwp.net/c/y/cycler/photo2.html |
| Sgt.B | That would be cool. I think there is a huge market for those little red X's, Of course its all in the packaging.

| KCLu | What ARE they? I could see the pictures, but I'm not sure what it is that you once considered producing... btw, MotherTested, welcome to the forum! Post up a picture of your scooter & if you need help, just ask Retro or I, we'd be more than happy to assist.

| MotherTested | quote:Thanks for the reply PJ, I don't know what room you use there as I have always looked upon it as the "cockpit". I, myself, don't have to tilt the unit for fuel. Tank removal requires that or I can remove the entire rig in under 10 minutes. I was simply showing one of the properties of the mounting. Even if it required that it has a nylon sleeve on the mount(around the bars)and freely rotates till propped (process is effortless and takes all of 2 seconds). I do keep a 32 cal. pistol in there along with my phone, map, keys and cigs. I did at one time have the radio in the rear and had the speakers and remote up front, but times change and I much prefer this set up. Not for everyone? Sure, but I do enjoy having a shiny, lockable glove box. If you're ever in the Baton Rouge/New Orleans area keep your ears open (I'm the one pissing off the cagers). heehee PEACE, Kevin MotherTested

| Sgt.B | I love the way you put the speakers in the light casings... Great

| MotherTested | Thanks for the reply James. As soon as I get the extra grills in I'm going to have one set nickel plated and another set painted to match(candy) and do the comparison thing.
PEACE, Kevin

| Nite_Ryder | Looks like a real quality set up!i was looking into the different maker available but was wondering if the sound could be truely heard at speed with no window? can you also produce a smaller housing for say a mp3 player with a cig. adapter for the cell phone?

| Nite_Ryder | if the music was loud enought i was thinking of getting engine guards and mounting the speakers on them like foglamps inreverse. wadaya think , is there enough volume?
MIKE |
| MotherTested | Hey Mike, The first stereo used was rated at 30w/ch(peak) and was suffice. This one is 45w/ch. The specs on the stereo can be found at crutchfield (this one was bought about a year ago, CQ-DP171U). I took the shield off and around 75mph the wind started to overpower it. With the shield up(heehee) I let off at around 115mph. Clean sound from 0 - 115. Now they're putting MOSFET 60 chips in them (= 60w/ch should be good for 130mph, methinks). The next lower housing shell would be a 3"hx6w"x?. That would only work with a drawer/tray though. Are you referring to a portable mp3 player? You give me the dimensions of what you need and I'll get back to you. BTW... this design works, not only because of the clean power and clear digital reproduction, but also by having the speakers right there in front targeted to the ear.
What machine are you referring to? The one in your sig would definitely need a bottom mount and the mount can be place almost anywhere along the center and if you needed a power line that would be a bottom mount as well (with a right angled connector). I'm currently putting together a unit using 5.25" spkrs with smaller shells and post those up if I decide to go any further with it. I've mounted this on 3 different machines and each one was a little different, but I believe I could mount it to practically any thing with a tubular bar. The pic is the back side and probably would be fluted if used in the bottom mount style. That is a weld by the way.
Thanks, Kevin
