Spring/Summer 03 Get Togethers....
RetroHey All! I'm looking at my rally calendar for next year and want some suggestions as to events that we might use for get togethers. Right now, the Freedom Rally in IA and Sturgis are pretty much givens. I don't think I'll make the coasts this year (maybe Daytona...not sure), but I'm thinking an Oklahoma rally would be good chance to meet with our central and southern members and a KY or TN rally (maybe the Hoot) might get me a little farther east.... Any thoughts?? Ride safe! Retro

KCLuWhere do they hold "Little Sturgis" ? Their web site is under construction, so I can't get any info on that right now. An Oklahoma rally would be good... but Retro, why is it that no matter what rally we ride to we have an ugly friggin' ride ahead of us? Its just not fair. Ride Safe & Sparkly! Lu
RetroI think Little Sturgis is in Sturgis, MS. Maybe we can go visit Jim!! If we do an OK rally, we'll head south on 69 so we can ride through Fort Scott, etc...That's actually a really nice ride. Then we'll cut over for the ugly ride ! Ride safe! Retro

When we went this summer,had a motel room in Bartlesville, the only time we saw it was when we checked in, then the Sunday morning when we stopped by to drop the keys off!! Got awful Froggy in Pawhuska!!!!

Little Sturgis is about 80-90 miles south of me. Very close to Starksville, the home of Mississippi State University. Actually it would be a very neat ride from here atTrails-End Motorcycle Campgroundto Sturgis, down the Natchez Trace darn near all the way. Beautiful scenery and a low traffic, no commercial vehicle National Parkway. That sounds to me like a Wondermussidea. I will reserve at least a hundred camp sites for you guys. JimNow Folks, I gotta tell you Sturgis Mississippi is lots mo betta than Sturgis Kentucky. I know they got good bourbon in Kentucky, but Here in Mississippi we got White Lighting that you can always use when you run out of gas. The have mountain roads, but we have the Trace. Kentucky has fast horses and beautiful women, but Mississippi has fast women and beautiful horses. Kentucky has Col. Saunders, Mississippi has Pvt John Allen. Kentucky has the Kentucky River, Mississippi has the MISSISSIPPI River. Kentucky has Horse racing, Mississippi has casinos. And food? Kentucky has KFC, Mississippi has Soul food, Bar-B-Que, seafood, catfish and a couple of Chinese restraurants. In addition, Trails-End is located about 10 miles from the Natchez Trace, about 5 miles from ELVIS PRESLEY'S birthplace, 20 miles for Brice's Crossroads, 350 miles from the Gulf and the beaches. Now tell me, why would anyone go to Kentucky when they could come down to Mississippi? Nope, no contest! bearI talked to some people that went to Conesville, Iowa..I have never been there, always seem to have to do something else, anyway, if you are not into veiwing XXX rated things, on stage, on the rode, out in the open, and in front of a large crowd, don't go...it is one that is for adults, and they aren't kidding, My friends son went he is 32 and he was so shocked, seen it all ya know, but it really shocked him, he said that he could not beleive it...as for me, it is one I intend to make next year for sure, I did 7 1/2 years in the Navy, seen whats behind the green door, I got to go see if they can shock me, LOL LOL Joe [the bear] noli illegitimi carborundum
